CUSCO SACRED VALLEY 2 + GOURMET HUAYPO PICNIC

ONE DAY RIDES

ABOUT LAMAY AND THE SACRED VALLEY

The SACRED VALLEY of the Incas, also known as the Urubamba valley has the highest concentration of trails in the Cusco region and holds the Vilcanota River. Pisac is in one edge of the Valley, Urubamba in the middle and Ollantaytambo (the last place you can drive to) on the other edge. The river and a train line continue its way to Machu Picchu, the hidden town of the Incas discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911.

The SACRED VALLEY is full of Inca sites to visit like Moray, Pisac, Maras, Chinchero and the list continues. The INCAS used the valley for agricultural purposes. Now a days agriculture is still a major activity. This whole valley is a lot more fertile and has better climate than Cusco city.

One of the towns in the SACRED VALLEY is LAMAY. Lamay is a small valley inside the Sacred Valley with a big creek that ends in the Vilcanota River. Lamay is full of agriculture and full of trails. More than 5 different trails have been ridden, 3 of this trails are long, giving us the option for a great full day for MTB in Cusco.

ABOUT THE RIDE

MTB in Lamay is wonderful. The Trails in Lamay are very flowy and are different one from another. The longer trails start close to lakes at 4,400 meters and some of them drop to the Lamay Plaza.

ABOUT LUNCH

For lunch we will have a tasty selection of traditional regional dishes, based on ingredients from the area of the Sacred Valley. All this to have an unforgettable experience that is complemented by a wide space, a welcoming atmosphere and the personalized attention and warmth of an Andean community.
